Did You Know?

The importance of early socialization of your new puppy can’t be overstated! It is the most important thing you can do to help prevent the most serious dog problem owners have - aggression.

Puppies between the ages of 2 and 4 months are in a developmental period where they are readily open to bonding with dogs and people, and are very impressionable. Puppies that have positive, low-stress social experiences at this age are less likely to be fearful of people, (including different types of people), and other dogs as adults. Dogs that have missed out on this critical time have a much greater chance of biting someone later on.

Puppy Party! (designed especially for the under 20 week old crowd)

Half hour of Play for $5

At Head of the Class Dog Training LLC, the puppies are allowed to explore and interact at their own pace, and learn appropriate puppy play and canine body language. It is like an extension of their own litter! At each session there may be a familiar buddy, or a new pal to get to know! Either way, puppies are gently exposed to new things and encouraged to interact when they feel comfortable. Puppy Parents are encouraged to watch and learn about canine body language during the play session.

Adult Dog Party for Small dogs (designed for dogs older than 5 months, who will weigh less than 25 lbs as adults)

Half hour of Play for $5

Too cold, hot, rainy, or muddy to go to the dog park? Well, bring your dog to the indoor small dog party!

The benefits of the indoor party are:

  • All dogs are current on vaccinations
  • Play is closely supervised and monitored
  • Dogs can develop friendships with other dogs that can continue at the next session, or outside of the parties

Because “adult” dogs play differently than young puppies and are at a different developmental stage, these “oldsters” must already have the ability to play nice with others.
